Pastor Willie C. Barnes

Reverend Willie C Barnes was born in 1954 in Munford, Alabama. In 1967 he moved to Orlando, Florida and was a student in the Orange County School System. After a successful academic and athletic high school season, Reverend Barnes graduated with honors from Maynard Evans High School in 1972.  
 
In 1977, Reverend Barnes graduated from the University of Central Florida with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering. His career began in 1977 with an appointment as a Design Engineer at Martin Marietta Electronics and Missiles Systems where he worked for 15 years. While employed at Martin Marietta Corporation, Rev Barnes accepted the call to ministry in 1986.   He was ordained in 1987 by the Late Reverend L.W. Wilson, Pastor of Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church of Orlando where he served as the Associate Minister.
 
Later that year of October 1987, he was called to Pastor Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church of Eatonville, Florida. He remained bi-vocational (Electrical Engineer and Pastor) until 1991 when he accepted the full time responsibility where he has served for the past 20 years.
 
As Pastor and Chief Executive Officer of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, Inc. of Eatonville, the church experienced much growth spiritually and physically.
 
In 2001 he was awarded an Honorary Doctorate in Divinity from United Bible College and Seminary of Orlando. Also in 2001, Nehemiah Educational and Economic Development Inc. (NEED) a non-profit organization was initiated to coordinate outreach programs for education, economic development and programs for high-risk individuals.
 
Reverend Barnes currently serves as President of the African American Council of Christian Clergy (AACCC), and is an Honorary Deputy for the Orange County Sheriff Office. He also serves on the Mayor Safe Orlando Task Force.

He is married to Anita Louise Barnes of 20 years and the father of three Lattitia, Anissa and Antonio (deceased).


Tonja Holloway - Parish Nurse

A Florida native, Tonja Holloway was born and raised in Lake Wales, FL and is the youngest of six siblings. Tonja excelled academically graduating from Lake Wales High School with High Honors in 1989.

Tonja pursued her heart’s passion of becoming a Registered Nurse and was inducted into the Beta Pi Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing in December 1992. She successfully graduated from the Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing in the spring of 1993. Tonja began her nursing career at Tallahassee Memorial Regional Medical Center. While employed at Tallahassee Memorial her professional career flourished in the areas of Maternal / Child and Neurology. In January 1996 Tonja relocated to Orlando, FL and continued her career at Orlando Regional Medical Center with an emphasis on Internal Medicine. Tonja continued to excel in her professional career with valuable experiences in education, nursing administration, and marketing.
 
In 1999 Tonja became a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church of Eatonville, FL where she experienced enormous spiritual growth. Accepting her calling as Parish Nurse, Tonja completed the Parish Nurse Preparatory Program at the Florida Hospital Parish Nurse Institute in September 2007. With prayer, guidance of the Holy Spirit and the support of Pastor Willie C Barnes the Parish Nurse Ministry was implemented at Macedonia in October 2007. As Parish Nurse, Tonja remains faithful and dedicated in her service to the Lord. She currently serves as Co-Chair for the Health Ministry and is an active member of the Usher’s Ministry as well as Women’s Ministry. She is also a member of the Central Florida Black Nurses Association.

Tonja is the wife of Michael Holloway of 9 yrs. and the mother of 8 yr. old son, Channing.

Deacon Lavon Williams - Chairman
Interfaith Council of Churches


Lavon was born and raised  in Volusia County Florida. He graduated from Deland Senior High School, Deland Fl., in 1982. Lavon is a veteran of the United States Army and received an honorable discharge in 1988. He went on to pursue a Bachelor of Science Degree from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, Daytona Beach Fl. Lavon graduated with a B.S. Degree in Professional Aeronautics in 1992. He was ordained as a Deacon in 1993 and serves as Chairman of the Health Ministry at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Eatonville Fl. Lavon has worked in emergency medicine for the past 15 years. He is also a CPR Instructor, Professional Firefighter and a Paramedic. Lavon has a true passion for serving GOD'S people through the Ministry of Health.

50 + BOOST YOUR BRAIN CAMP Every Thursday beginning May 13th to July 1st from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm at Eatonville Commercial Center, 323 E. Kennedy Blvd Suite G. The Orlando Health Memory Disorder Center, in collaboration with the Town of Eatonville, Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, and The Nice Life is proud to present 50+ Boost Your Brain Camp. The 50 + Boost Your Brain Camp is an 8 -week program for citizens age 50 and older which focuses on enhancing brain health through a variety of activities that include: mental stimulation, physical activity, nutrition, spirituality and socialization. The camp is FREE!
