Caregiver Seminar Series- Wednesday June 24th from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm and Saturday, June 27th from 9:30 am - 11:30 am at First United Methodist Church of Winter Park.  First Session on Caregiver Care.  Learn how to balance the demands of being a caregiver and taking care of yourself.  Second session on Independence.  Learn how to maintain independence for you and your loved one.  Presented by Peggy Barbmann, RN.  RSVP to Share the Care at 407-423-5311 by Monday June 22nd.  Light meals will be served.

Cancer Survivor Lecture,  Tuesday, June 30, 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm at First United Methodist Church of Winter Park.  Hear Dr. Jay McClelland discuss cancer and lowered resistance to infections and how to handle this as well as share with others. Recession Recovery, FREE SEMINAR, sessions held at Winter Park Presbyterian Church.  Thursday, May 21st  @ 11:00am-"Living Longer and Retiring Stronger". Thursday, June 4th @ 11:00 am and 6:00 pm - "Preparing for the Unforseen".  Tuesday, June 30th @ 11:00 am and 6:00 pm - "Am I Protected".  All sessions presented by Mr. Brad Erb, Financial Advisor.  A light meal will be served.  Reservations Required - please call 407-647-1467.

Support Group for Caregivers of Persons with Memory Loss, Dementia, and Alzheimer's.  Meetings the First Tuesday of Every Month from 10:00 am - 11:00 am at Daybreak at the Miller Center, 2010 Mizell Avenue, Winter Park.  Call 407-629-4565 if respite care is needed for your loved one while you attend the meetings.  This service is offered free of charge.  

Brain Fitness Club is a program for persons experiencing early memory loss.  It is held from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm on Tuesdays and Fridays with socialization, light physical exercise, mental stimulation and coping strategies all in a relaxed supportive fun environment.  Contact Peggy Bargmann at 407-927-4380 or email at brain.fitness@yahoo.com to discuss appropriateness of program and possible enrollment.  Each person must be evaluated before enrollment.  Sessions are held at First United Methodist Church of Winter Park.

PRODUCE POWER In this workshop you will learn how to creatively fill your plate with a variety of colorful vegetables.  You will learn:  The nutrient advantage of vegetables; learning to like, love, and crave vegetables from childhood to adulthood; learn to prepare delicious recipes to take back to the family dinner table.  Workshop is on Monday, July 13th from 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church.  All are invited.  Please RSVP to Joann Ruiz at 407-647-3392, x276 or email her at joann@stmargaretmary.org.

Our Whole Community hopes to inspire you to experience a healthy lifestyle!  We are committed to whole person health and seek to encourage intergenerational physical fitness and healthy nutrition.  We invite you to take a look at and participate in the collective educational programs and the congregational community gardens.

Our Whole Community is the vision of the Interfaith Council on Community Health and Wholeness, whose congregational partners collaborate on community health initiatives for the communities of Eatonville, Maitland and Winter Park, Florida.

Check out the "Growth" tab to link to information about gardening.  Our garden now has 22 boxes. If you are interested in getting a box in the future, please let our garden consultant know (email address in Garden Section).  If you are interested in learning more about Gardening, the Orange County Extension Center in Orlando offers many excellent seminars and classes.  Their website address is http://ocextension.ifas.ufl.edu.  

Our Whole Community    learns about gardening, healthy cooking, nutrition, and fitness to help you eat and live healthfully. We offer healthy meal preparation classes, cooking demonstrations and fitness presentations.

Our Whole Community     provides the tools for a wholesome lifestyle - join us for fitness presentations on exercise, stretching, resistance training, aerobics, easy weightlifting, line dancing, ballroom dancing and more.
